To secure Dr. Fauci's voluntary testimony, GOP Senator Rand Paul says he has been negotiating with Fauci’s lawyers for a year.

On X, Senator Paul confirmed that Fauci is no longer willing to appear voluntarily before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The refusal to appear voluntarily left the senator with few options: a subpoena to compel Fauci’s testimony was issued.

Having reported on many subpoenas, I zoomed in on paperwork posted by Senator Paul on X. It appears Fauci's testimony is scheduled for July 28th or July 29th, at the Dirksen Senate Office Building, at 10 a.m.

The conventional narrative is that Fauci’s pre-emptive pardon signed by President Biden using the autopen is relatively bulletproof.

But former Justice Department officials have told me all it may take to challenge the pardon is an unconventional legal strategy…
