Arctic Frost Dragnet: Tip Of The Iceberg?

Why The Controversy Goes Beyond Politics

TOP LINE

This week, the ARCTIC FROST dragnet was revealed, along with other related developments that suggest a broader conspiracy.

New FBI whistleblower records confirm the targeting of more than 400 Republican individuals and entities.

At the same time, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee released its investigation into President Biden’s use of the AUTOPEN for presidential pardons.

GOP Investigators concluded President Biden was not an active participant in the pardon and commutation process.  Rather, a shadow administration was calling the shots.

With the latest revelations, there is a growing body of evidence that one political party used the tools of government power to investigate its political opponents for nearly a decade.

This is why the ARCTIC FROST controversy goes beyond politics and Democrats should, and may eventually care.

DEEP DIVE

New legally protected whistleblower disclosures reveal that Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team secured 197 subpoenas.    They sought testimony, records and communications “related to at least 430 Republican individuals and entities.”

The ARCTIC FROST investigation laid the foundation for Special Counsel Smith’s electors case against President Trump in which he challenged the outcome of the 2020 election results.

TIMING MATTERS

Justice Department records show January 6 was actively investigated for 15 months before ARCTIC FROST was opened and approved by senior Biden Administration officials.  The memorandum bears the personal signatures of then Attorney General Merrick Garland, his deputy Lisa Monaco and FBI Director Christopher Wray.

NOTE: FROM MONACO TO GARLAND “I RECOMMEND YOU APPROVE.”

The new whistleblower records reinforce credible questions about Smith’s motivation and the legal basis for his  probe.  The records show Smith’s team subpoenaed entities that did not exist on January 6th which begs the question: why were they under investigation?

On X, America First Legal, which takes on cases from Diversity Equity and Inclusion (DEI) to government overreach, posted the demand for their records, calling it a ‘witch hunt used to spy on conservatives.”

GOP Senator Grassley who released the latest whistleblower records said the controversy goes beyond political parties.

“If this happened to the Democrats, they’d be as rightly outraged as we are. We’re making these records public in the interest of transparency and so that the American people can draw their own conclusions.”

Congressional investigators' comprehensive list of subpoena records is more than 1700 pages long. It is clear that the scope exceeded January 6 and the electoral college certification. (NOTE: I’ve included the link here so you can check it out for yourself.)

This week, we also learned that the collection of phone record data for Republican lawmakers went much further than previously reported.
